Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, has called for members and supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to smooth over their differences and pull together to retain the party in power, come the 2024 general election.
They should all accept to put the party ahead of individual political ambition.
She told them to “allow 2021 to sweep away all bitterness we habour against each other and stay in unity to enable us to win the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.”
Addressing the end of year meeting of the regional executives of the party in Sunyani, the Regional Minister said, breaking the “eight-year jinx” would require hard work and unity of purpose.
She underlined the need for everybody to come on board and help to tell the success story of the party’s government.
Nobody should sit on the fence, they should all find space in the drive to win over more supporters for the party ahead of the 2024 general election.
“In unity lies strength, united we stand, divided we fall, and one cannot fight a thousand, are all wise sayings which inspire and guide us as a party” she said.
